What if no one is home to accept the delivery?
It is our standard policy to leave the flowers in a safe place or with a neighbour. If this happens we will leave a calling card so that the recipient knows where to find the flowers.
If you have specific delivery instructions for us to follow, please add these on the basket page.
If there isn't a safe place for us to leave the flowers (eg. the address is on a main high street with no front garden or porch), the flowers will be returned to our shop for collection (free) or re-delivery (delivery fees apply).
By completing your order, you accept that our responsibility for the flowers ends once they have been successfully delivered as per the details above.

PACKAGING - 100% of our packaging is home compostable
WASTE - 100% of our waste has avoided landfill
ENERGY - Our electricity is generated at UK wind farms
PEOPLE - We are a London Living Wage employer and our hard-working team is on permanent contracts with paid annual leave and a contributory pension
SUPPLY PARTNERS - All of our flowers come direct from Holland via our supply partner - Hoek Flowers. Hoek are part of the FSI initiative, their 60,000 square metre building is 100% gas free, 75% (so far…) of their energy comes from their own solar panels and they have a 4000 Sq M ‘green roof’ which the University of Leiden are using to research which greens and mosses attract the most insects, birds and bees and what type of green roofs are most beneficial to the environment.

Like any business we are here to turn a profit so that we can keep brightening up life with our blooms. However, we care deeply about leaving a positive impact wherever we go. As well as our commitment to Petals. Planet. Promise. We want to share where the cost of the flowers comes from so that when you buy flowers from Gardenia you can make an informed purchase decision.
We buy all of our beautiful fresh flowers direct from Holland - from field to our shop and your kitchen table in as little as 36 hours. All flowers are sold at auction,so prices change daily.
The price we charge goes towards the following
- Business costs - VAT, Business Rates
- Running costs - Rent, Electricity, Water, Technology, Transport, Responsible waste disposal
- People - From conditioning flowers, to processing web orders, to creating bouquets for all budgets, to delivery routes, to taking orders, to wedding and event flowers, to opening the shop door every morning - our business would be nothing without our team of 5 florists. Our team is committed and passionate and between us we have 70+ years experience in floristry. Paying our team fairly and looking after them beyond a basic wage is key to who we are
- Product costs - the flowers themselves, packaging costs
