About Gardenia of London | Sustainable & Plastic-Free Florist Since 1999

Welcome to Gardenia of London, where our passion for flowers meets a steadfast commitment to sustainability. Since 1999, we've been crafting exquisite, eco-friendly floral designs that bring joy to our community.

Our Story

Gardenia was founded by Jamie Grant, whose career in floristry spans over 30 years. What began with early mornings at Covent Garden Flower Market grew steadily into a long-standing independent business rooted in South West London.

Now in its 26th year, Gardenia remains proudly local – shaped by experience, guided by craft and supported by a loyal community. While many high street names have come and gone, Gardenia has endured by staying focused on quality, relationships and doing things properly.

Jamie now focuses on the long-term direction of Gardenia, supporting the team and safeguarding the values the business was built on – ensuring the business continues to evolve without losing its heart.

Alongside Gardenia, Jamie is a Board Director of the British Florist Association, contributing to wider industry conversations around sustainability, training and professional standards. That wider perspective informs how Gardenia operates today, while remaining firmly grounded in real, independent floristry.

Commitment to Sustainability

Sustainability at Gardenia has been a journey rather than a single decision. Over time, the business has reviewed how it operates and made deliberate changes to reduce its environmental impact in practical, meaningful ways.

Today, Gardenia operates with:

  • 100% plastic-free packaging, all UK-made and home compostable
  • 0% waste sent to landfill since 2017
  • All floral and green waste composted through a closed-loop process

These choices reflect a commitment to progress, responsibility and thoughtful floristry – balancing beauty with care for the planet.

Our Team

Our team is the heart of Gardenia. From experienced florists to those early in their careers, each person brings care, skill and pride to their work. We believe in nurturing talent, sharing knowledge and creating an environment where people can grow – because flowers are always better when they’re made by people who feel valued.
